Search engines need to know the main subject of web pages so they can accurately place your site on the Internet. If your title mega tags are not specific enough then your web pages will never receive worthwhile placement on Google or Yahoo.

Many sites use the name of the company as the title - and worst of all these same title tags are on every page throughtout the entire site! How many times have you seen the title of a webpage that read "About Us" ? More importantly, how is Google supposed to know what the subject is? Did you know that the title tag "About Us" is currently being used on over one billion web pages?!!! Do a search on Google and see for yourself.

How to Make the Change Easy . . .

Log in to your website's control panel. If you do not know how to log in to your control panel, phone your website hosting company and they will email you the information.

After logging in:

  • Open the web page you want to change.
  • Go to the source code and look for the title tag area near the top of the coding. The title tags look like this: <title>The Subject of Your Page</title>.
  • Change the the words within the title tags.
  • Save the changes.
  • Upload the changes.
